I was just too tired that day and taken off guard, but it´s a good reminder to stand up for myself and other foreigners in Chile.Gringo In Chilehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05229883422304518637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8995670594055287608.post-84107917321675885742013-10-31T22:17:37.317-05:002013-10-31T22:17:37.317-05:00I'm sorry about your cab ride experience. I...I'm sorry about your cab ride experience. I'm not sure about the way things are in Chile. In Argentina I've had similar issues where people try and take advantage and when I try to threaten them with calling the cops or reporting them to their supervisors they just laugh. It's annoying when you've lived in a country your whole life where there's a code of conduct that must be obeyed for ethical and legal reasons and then you move to another country where the code of conduct can be flexible and shady. I'd suggest that if this happens again, get loud! People try to intimate foreigners but if you show you're equally and loud and determined not to get screwed they'll back down (maybe ... hopefully).Gay American In Argentinahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14158641102399233929noreply@blogger.com
